There seems to be a trend for European manufacturers to deliver vehicles with larger wheel sizes as factory options. This creates unnecessary difficulties for the customer, as 20" or larger size tires and wheels cost significantly more compared to anything below 20". Additionally, larger diameter wheels means lower profile tires which causes a lot of downsides. Examples include, but are not limited to: less ride comfort, the wheels are more prone to damage from potholes and uneven roads, and are again, are more costly to replace.
Our customer came to us to find a better winter tire/wheel setup, and we helped downsize the 20" that came from factory to a 19" setup. The wheels are a set of Replika R198 finished in gunmetal finish for easier maintenance, wrapped in Continental IceContact XTRM's, which are one of the best rated winter tires on the market. We used a set of TPMS sensors from Autel and finished the OEM look by using the factory center caps. The tires are now narrower and much thicker, which drives through rough winter roads better.
