Our customer owned this 2010 Honda Fit since brand new and had always been using the 3.5mm Aux input with her iPhone since the vehicle did not have bluetooth. Eventually, the aux input stopped working and while she did inquire with the local Honda dealer for a fix, they quoted her a price north of $3000 as they claimed the whole dashboard had to be taken apart to change the radio and aux. Wanting to keep this reliable runabout, she came across our Pioneer bluetooth special and inquired if her vehicle was eligible for the $300 promotional price and if it would fix her issue.
We informed her, not only would this fix her issue but it would also add bluetooth handsfree calling and music streaming which would make for a safer drive. There's no issue installing this radio on the GE Fit since this vehicle did not have a factory amplifier and did not need an extra steering retention module. Some trims of Honda Fit may have steering controls for the audio, in which case this would be anywhere from $120-150 for the module with installation and programming.
The blue lighting of the MVH-S322BT matched the Honda Fit very well and the dash kit even comes with a storage pocket. The beauty of going with an aftermarket replacement is that these parts are all standardized. Meaning if the aux or bluetooth of this Pioneer unit fails 10 years down the road, she can go to any car stereo shop and put in any single-din or double-din radio while reusing the dash kit, wire harness (some modification maybe required), and antenna adapter. Unlike the factory radio, this gives her a lot more options as far as serviceability and affordability.
