Porsche 718 GT4 Michelin Pilot Alpin 4 Winter Tires

As impressive as the 981 and 718 GT4 are, the factory Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires are hopeless as temperatures get cold. Thankfully, Michelin makes a N1 (Porsche spec) Pilot Alpin 4 in the factory GT4 sizing that solves the problem. In our experience, the PA4 is a sportier winter tire that still inspires confidence in freezing temperature. Ultimately, with a car this low, when snow gets thick it's still not going to perform super well. But for driving around town, going around a turn and not having the ice cold Cup2 tires kick the rear out uncontrollably is a much preferred experience. The Cup2's are great at handling heat and are a fun tire to use on a summer track day, but in the winter months they can crack and are simply unsafe to use. If the car is not being stored for winter, we recommend dismounting them and storing the tires somewhere warm for the winter. Frankly letting a $2000+ set of tires crack in the snow is a waste, making winters or even all seasons a worthy investment.
